More Challenges

It's been a busy few days here. My sister and her hubby flew down from Brisbane, not just to visit me, but because my brother-in-law was filming a segment for the New Inventors. For non-Aussies, it's a show that has people who've invented something as a way to get their products out there. My BIL invented this cool camera system that can detect the difference between different animals that walk in front of it and open a gate to let them into the watering trough, or not, depending on what they are. I'm probably not explaining it very well, but I'm an ancient historian!!!! It's actually really cool and has lots of different applications, especially for remote areas and preventing feral animals from getting in where they don't belong. I got to go see the show being filmed, hang out in the green room and meet some of the judges - too much fun!

Anyway, after all that excitement I've been too tired to do much and so I'm finally getting around to putting up the cards I made for the other two challenges for our Cyberstamp night.

This one was for the colour challenge. The colours were Groovy Guava, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. I've used the Baroque Motifs set and the sentiment is from Short and Sweet. The rest is pretty obvious....oh and there's also a bit of Choc Chip taffeta ribbon there on the left.

The other challenge was a sketch challenge and Alisa choose the Mojo Monday Sketch No. 37. As I had planned on doing it anyway I thought that was a great choice, LOL!!!
For my card I used the colour combo from last week's SCS challenge: Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. The tulips are from Garden Whimsy and the Sentiment is from Warm Words. I also used some Celery DSP from the 6x6 Palette of Prints promotion and some green Rhinestone Brads to hold on the Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon.

The card is actually not that crooked, it's my appalling photography skills!

I probably won't have much to post over the next week. I'm VERY busy working on my sister's birthday present, which is actually much more time consuming than I thought when I originally decided to do it. It's an 'Inspiration Book' (it's ok - she knows what I'm making cause I had to check she didn't actually have anything like that before I started! and she's already got the stamp set I bought for her.... no point in having it here for me to drool over!) and it's going to have all kinds of cool stuff inside - like sketches, colour combos, pages for notes.... and maybe a few surprises. I'm decorating it in her favourite SU! colours, with lots of pretty embellishments etc. When I'm finished I'm going to make one for myself too. I think it's such a good idea to have a book to turn to for when you need a little inspiration! If you have any good ideas for what I should include in it, let me know!

Thanks for stopping by

Kristie
