My lovely friend Sam has been running a blog candy giveaway over on her blog to celebrate 20K hits...YAY for Sam!!! She ran it like an inspiration challenge using this as her inspiration piece:
I have to admit that for some reason I really struggled with this one. I love these colours and I really loved the fabric that Sam chose as the inspiration. It's just that I couldn't make a card that I was happy with!!! I have made at least 4 cards and numerous bits that ended up in the bin (or the do something with these later box) and I've not been pleased with any of them. However, the challenge closes today, and I really wanted to play, so last night I made this card and it will be my entry:
I used my brand new "Merry, Merry' Christmas stamp and all the colours required. I'm not completely thrilled with it, but there you go. Sometimes it's so easy to make a card and other times it just seems like a lot of hard work :)
Here's a close up of one of the snowflake "baubles" so you can see how glittery it is:
Supplies-
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Perfect Plum, Soft Sky, Rose Red
Stamps: Merry, Merry
Other: Gold brads, Soft Sky double stitched ribbon, Dimensionals, glue dots, snail.
At least I have one more Christmas card to add to the pile....and in non-traditional colours too!
btw: I stamped the "may your merry be very" stamp inside with a couple of snowflakes and I probably should have taken a picture of that too, but I'm over it :)
Hope your day is Merry

All those bright colors really would of stumped me but you really pulled this off beautifully! You made it simple and clean and the colors work so well together! I love Kristie! {SMILES}
beautiful. LOVE the glittery snowflakes and the fun colors!
You did a nice job on the challenge! I too like the color combo but I would also find it challenging :)
