A DSP love affair…

It’s true, anyone who reads this blog regularly should know how much I love my DSP :) And this month SU! tempted me beyond the point of resistance with a special offer of buy 3 get one free. So I went halves with Madonna in 4 packs and halves with Mama in another 4…yes, I have 8 half packs of DSP to play with, and instead of hoarding it I decided that I would use it! I made myself a challenge to make a minimum of one card using every single pack of DSP at least once. I have made tons of cards already, but yesterday I had another thought (dangerous I know!)…how many cards could you make using one 1/2 pack of DSP and the matching cardstock and stamp set??? It would be interesting to know, but I was thwarted from my plan by the arrival of the Australia Post delivery man with a lovely big box of more SU! goodies and I was drawn off into the dangerous territory of new toys :)

So I thought that today, as the first in a series of posts with cards using DSP, I would show you the two I made yesterday using *Urban Oasis* and the 5th Ave Floral.

I just love this colour combination of Baja Breeze, Basic Black and Whisper White. It’s very cool and elegant. I lived dangerously with this one and stamped my sentiment straight onto the DSP after the rest of the card was already assembled!!! I decided that it was ok to use extra sentiment sets in my card making experiment ;)

This one is pretty straightforward, but if you have any questions leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you.

This next card also uses Basic Black, with some Kiwi Kiss this time:

The black DSP is from the pack, but the Kiwi panel was stamped with the flower from the stamp set in Basic Black ink. I also added some delicious Kiwi/Vanilla double sided satin ribbon and a Kiwi button from the Button Bouquet. Both of these cards are all SU! Yay me :)

In my parcel of goodies yesterday was one of SU’s 5x5” journals. I’ve wanted a new address book for a while now, and haven’t been able to find something I liked enough to buy that was in my price range, so I decided to make my own! It won’t be in real alphabetical order, but I don’t mind that as I can usually find what I’m looking for without that. Anyway, enough babble…here it is after some alteration with *Sweet Always* DSP:

I had that big letter *K* for a while…it’s from Bazzill and I have wanted the perfect project to use it on and this is it :) It’s small enough to go in my handbag, but big enough to find easily…I just have to put all my names and addresses into it now…*sigh*….

OK, this was a pretty big post…I hope you stuck with me til the end :) I hope that I will have some new Jethro photos for you tomorrow…he’s getting so big! He’s such a sook too…he loves to sleep on my feet! This is where he was this morning…

Like my stripey jammy pants? LOL! I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday…

Oh I have been struck by the DSP bug too and haven't even begun to use them all yet. I love the two cards you made. I love the Fifth Ave Florals and the Urban Oasis DSP. So many things to make such little time.

Jethro is such a gorgeous puppy. Love the PJ's. :D

Now I'd have to be one of the rare ones who's not really that into DSP. I don't know why I buy a couple of packs each year coz I hardly use any of it. But then I see what someone else has made with it and I start to wonder if maybe I should buy some more. Ahhh... the mind of a papercrafter!
Your cards look great. FAF is a great set for making lovely cards effortlessly. BTW I sent you a card last week...did you get it??

I love DSP!!! I usually buy one of each pack I like, then stare at it for 6+ months. But I HAVE it....

Isn't it fun to self-challenge!? You have done a MAH-velous job with your cards. I might have to steal that black & kiwi one for my June workshops. I so desperately want to USE this paper, so maybe The Ladies can help me. ;-)

And that dog is too stinkin' cute! Keep the gratuitous pics coming!

These are beautiful. I too hoarde my DSP's. WOnder why we do that? Especially when we can "create" with them. Oh well, must be a crafter's thing!

Your cards are stunning and little Jethro is getting cuter & cuter.

Hugs,
