More DSP cards…

See, I told you that my new *schedule* would encourage me to post more regularly :) Today I have another 2 cards to show you. I’m pretty sure that I haven’t shared these with you before….but it’s a while since I made them. They are cards that I made when I was *trying out* all the new DSP that I had bought when the get one free sale was on. The first one uses the gorgeous Pink Flamingo DSP. I didn’t really love this when I saw it in the catalogue, but Mama liked it and wanted it as one of the packs we split, so I forced myself make something with it…

I cut around the flamingo and his birdie friend and stuck them on top of another piece from the pack. The layers were mounted on a Pacific Point layer and a Cameo Coral card base. The ribbon is also Pacific Point, which technically is not one of the matching colours….but I wanted to use that blue Supernova glitter on the On Board letters and it seemed a better match than Turquoise (I think that’s my reasoning at the time….it was a while ago!).

Next up is a simple little card I made with the yummy, yummy Candy Lane DSP:

This was sooooooo simple….cut out the section on the page with the birdies on it, layer that onto some Choc Chip, stick some striped DSP on a Pink Pirouette card base and quickly stamp and punch out the sentiment and it was done! I think it looks a little nekkid, but I don’t want to distract from those cute birdies, so I guess it will stay that way.

Today I am going to try and finish pretty-ing up a cork board for the craft room and try and finish the desk caddy too. I hope all the little finishing touches will be complete and I can show it to you over the weekend or by Monday at the latest. Mama is working, so it’s up to me to get the final touches done ;) It’s actually been a lot of work, but the end result is really worth it. Mama is spending a lot of time in there where it’s nice and warm during the day and I love the new organisation of all her supplies…I can find everything I need so quickly and easily now. I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I hope you have a great Thursday and I’ll be back soon :)

Hi Kristie,
I like how you've used the flamingo paper, I keep looking at these papers and don't know where to start. THanks for sharing your ideas.

OH these are GORGEOUS Kristie, it has really inspired me to have a go at making a card using only DSP, might have to go and have a go now!

Now *I* will need to steal these ides from YOU! :-) I have been pondering these sheets of DS paper since I would not ever use them to scrapbook, and the idea of cutting out those birds just never occurred to me!

I am really looking forward to seeing your craft room! (Still cannot see mine.)

You enabled me from across the big pond with that yummy riding hood red w/ vanilla trim ribbon. I ordered two rolls of that yesterday and decided I needed Candy Lane dsp to go with it...ugh. I have no room for all the SU papers I ordered from last months sale *sigh* No you use the dsp too, so obviously I **need** it ;)
