Challenge Complete & being tagged

I DID IT!!! I finally managed to complete the challenge Madonna set me to make a card using the scary (for me) Cameo Coral. It took me ages to come up with something that was even remotely presentable and much CC card stock ended up in the recycle bin! However, I am reasonably happy with the result. In the end I resorted to flowers and glitter - I mean how can you go wrong?

The other "requirements" of the challenge were Not Quite Navy and Whisper White, so that's the card stock I used. The flowers are punched out with the awesome five petal punch and doubled up. They are held together with Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware brads, and the frame at the base is also from the same Hodgepodge and held on with brads. The stems and leaves are from Bodacious Bouquet and the sentiment is from Short and Sweet, all stamped in Wild Wasabi (not part of the challenge but I don't care!) The edge of the White CS is distressed and there is some very pretty Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the flowers (as well as all over the whole card, cause it goes anywhere it likes and I can't stop it)

As if my darling sister hadn't tortured me enough, this morning I awoke (kinda late) to find I had been "tagged". Now I'm supposed to
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

So, you can go visit my sister here.

As for 7 random and/or weird facts about myself, well the hardest thing is to choose just 7 LOL!

1. I ALWAYS eat chocolate cake for breakfast on my birthday.

2. I can read classical Greek and Coptic* but I can't decipher the instructions for using the manual settings on my digital camera - weird huh?

3. I am the eldest of 5 children, 2 brothers and 2 sisters (I am the "good" sister referred to in Madonna's post in case you were wondering!)

4. I am claustrophobic because the "evil" sister and our brother locked me in a chest freezer when we were kids and I almost suffocated - 'cept my wonderful Mum saved me just in time!

5. I broke my elbow in 4 places after being thrown from a horse when I was 10, I only cried when my Mum told me I wouldn't be able to go away to camp that weekend.

6. I love movies in which stuff gets blown up! Best blowing stuff up movie of all time is Independence Day, closely followed by DIE HARD (any number).

7. I like crunchy food, especially potato chips, but basically anything crunchy (except celery -blech!). I actually get cravings for crunchy food, like you get cravings for chocolate (although I crave that too!)

Right, as a well known rule breaker I am not going to tag 7 people (mostly cause I don't "know" 7 people with blogs who haven't already been tagged)... instead I shall blatantly steal Lauren's idea and say...
If you are reading this and you want to be tagged, you are.
If you are reading this and you don't want to be tagged, you're not.
If you are not reading this you are ineligible to play!

Finally, if you'd like to see the other two cards that I made for the Elite Challenge, head on over to http://elitechallenges.wordpress.com/. They are in the sections labeled: CC Mossy Rocks, SSC Baroque Motifs, and the one from earlier is in SC 9. You will also be able to check out the work of some uber talented stampers while you're there.

Right, that's it for now. I really have to finish the assignment (due tomorrow).

*Coptic is the final form of the ancient Egyptian language from about the third century AD to when it was replaced by Arabic as the official language of Egypt. It uses the Greek alphabet plus an extra 6 letters. I believe that people stopped using it cause the verbs are WAAAAY tricky!

Thanks for looking, and have a fantastic day,

Kristie

ps: amazing coincidence #407: i cannot follow written instructions AT ALL. ever. those brownies we made last week??! jeff told me what to do, from the book, step-by-step! (HE has been home with a muscle spasm now, poor lad, and not allowed to do much...so that is how "WE" came to be baking as a team!) sadly, i cannot read classical greek OR coptic tho; luckily, i seldom have had need too...so far... :)

PSS: that card ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
