The gorgeous Nikki @ http://militarywifestampinspot.blogspot.com/ issued a challenge, and for once I had the time and inclination to play along. If you go on over to her site you'll see the pretty floral picture (from an email from Hallmark - yes Nikki that is ironic!!) that inspired her to issue the challenge. While mine is not as "pretty" as either the original pic nor Nikki's cards inspired by it, I was actually quite happy with the way it turned out.
The colors were: Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla. The flowers, leaves and stems are from Bodacious Bouquet, with the leaves and stems stamped in Artichoke and the flowers in Soft Sky and Guava on my very last scrap of Pretty in Pink CS (definitely time to order more!). That was matted onto Soft Sky and then onto Groovy Guava CS and then onto a Vanilla card base. "Wish Big" from Short and Sweet, was stamped in Guava onto Soft Sky and punched out with the large oval punch, before popping it into a large Antique Brass oval of Hodgepodge Hardware. That was then attached to the Guava ribbon with Brass brads. The Bodacious Bouquet makes it less soft and pretty than the original, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks for challenging me, Nikki, I've never used those colours together before. Tomorrow I'm going to (hopefully) post something I was challenged to use my my darling sister (and upline) Madonna - Cameo Coral. We've been having a discussion about Groovy Guava - I really like it, she's still not so sure, because she really likes Cameo Coral and I think it's a bit.... um bright??
Anyway, I've promised to make something using it and hopefully I'll get that done tonight and posted up here for her to see tomorrow. If it's really ugly I might just send it to her.... Love you Mad!
Thanks for looking, hope you've had a great day.
