MDUC #17

Hi everyone and welcome to another Magnolia Down Under Challenge. I can’t believe that we are up to number 17 already!!!! This week’s challenge is a fun sketch designed by Kellie:

MDUCSketch1

Isn’t that just the cutest??? Well, when I printed it out it was printed sideways, and not looking at the actual pic that Kellie had emailed me, I ended up making my card that way!!! It’s ok though…I stuck to the sketch, it’s just flipped!

As you can see I made another PINK card this week. I realised this morning that my last MDUC card was pink too…I’m really going to have to try other colours!!!

This week I coloured my Tilda with Copic Ciao markers and paper pieced her shorts and jacket with the Urban Prairie papers that I used on the card. The text layer bhind the image was stamped with the retired French Script BG stamp in Regal Rose, then sprayed with Bubblegum Pink Glimmer mist. IRL it’s all shimmery and pretty…but that’s really hard to capture in a photo! The buttons are from Basic Grey’s matching Urban Prairie buttons and the ribbon is some pale pink organza from Mama’s stash! The *love* sentiment is a rub-on from the Bright Delights rub-ons in the current catty (it’s Choc Chip….they have the best colours!!!!). I think that about covers it, but as usual if you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments. I hope you will all play along :)

Now on to something else…LOL! I have had several requests for Jethro photos and I REALLY tried to get some for you, but he is either curled up fast asleep or jumping around like a lunatic…which means getting a decent photo of him is almost impossible…but I will try again today and you will have something tomorrow….even if it’s blurry (that ok with you June and Leslie?). He is so huge now…I can’t believe that tiny little puppy grew so much in the last 2 months…he’s 3 months old and a MONSTER DOG!!! I am scared to even contemplate how much he is going to cost to feed once he’s finished growing!!!

Also the craft room photos will be coming this week! Right now the craft room looks a lot like a bomb went off in it (all my fault of course!)…but I will tidy up (and do a little *styling*) and take photos asap…look out for those pics later this week….PROMISE!!!!

I hope you’re all having a great weekend and that my American friends had a great Independence Day celebration!

Very cute card Kristie!

Sorry to hear about your craft rom bombing. I've had one here too. If you find a quick way to clean up the mess, be sure and let me know ;-).

Sam.

I nearly used the sketch sideways too - looks fabulous this way - love the paper piecing - the touch of blue is gorgeous among the pink!

Cute cute cute! Love the paper piecing.

And I am quite comfortable with blurry photos - as you know, I post them all the time! But a pic of Jethro sleeping would also be fine. Hmmm, did we check out his feet when he was a baby? Maybe we can get a clue of how monster-big he'll be! :-)

Also, bombed craft room pics are fine, too. I firmly believe people with pristine craft space never really use them. I'm just sayin'.

Word Verfication: blastler. A blastler went off in Kristie's craft room.

Well you know I am all about moving sketches and making them your own in some ways and you have done an amazing job in showing LOOK what you can do with a gorgeous card as a result!

Kristie, this is just such a sweet card! I love the way the sentiment peeks out over the top of the image, and the little buttons are a cute touch!

You work wonders with pink, Sweet Kristie! Your card is really pretty. I love the piecing and love the circle (sent.) you used!!! Fabbie little card, my friend.

Can't wait to see pics of my guy, blurry or not, and the craft room too. Mine looks like a bomb went off too, but I did clean some of it yesterday, so it is better. Progress is good...
